JPP at Donor Coordination Meeting: Social Gathering and Sharing Best Practices of Democracy Initiatives in Indonesi

Department of Politics and Government of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM, Monday (11/01/2011) conducted a prominent research program expo in the event “Donor Coordination Meeting: Social Gathering and Sharing Best Practices of Democracy Initiatives in Indonesia”. The event was held by Bappenas by presenting a number of donor agencies, embassies of friendly countries, and their main partners. This activity aims to show the achievement of the role of donors and CSOs in promoting democracy in Indonesia. Some of the institutions that attended and exhibited the achievements or products of advocacy in promoting democracy in Indonesia include: Norwegian Embassy, ​​Swedish Embassy, ​​Embassy of Japan, EMDP, IRI, IFES, NDI, UNODC, TAF, Partnership, Komnas Perempuan, Mitra Sehati, and so forth.

As one of the four main partners of the Norwegian Embassy, ​​JPP became the only college institution invited to this occasion. With leading works in the form of Power Research, Welfare, and Democracy (PWD Project), JPP presents several published works: Securing the Pace and the Direction of Indonesian Democratization, Aceh: the Role of Democracy for Peace and Reconstruction; Approching Conflict and Democracy in South and Southeast Asia, as well as several other flagship books on democracy
